During a frequently high-tempo twenty-years in the Army, Richard honed his skills in leadership and learned the value of training hard – invariably followed by rest and recuperation, ideally somewhere sunny. His military career brought him into contact with the widest range of people, often in the most challenging circumstances, and confirmed his interest in system change.
Richard continued to satisfy his craving for adrenaline with a five-year stint in Local Government where he led a range of multi-agency transformation programmes and contributed to Westminster Government policy initiatives.
At Thrive, Richard enjoys working alongside people who possess the will and energy to change things for the better. These days he doesn’t jump out of planes, and his weapon of choice is a Sharpie, but he still gets a buzz from large scale interventions.
